current LSS

star

When you wish upon a star, be sure you aren't wishing in mine...

So many wishes in line for the year, some have been realized some are still there... wishing hoping I would get it someday.

Hoping.

cigars anyone?

A friend from work has been trying to quit smoking ever since the new year began but he is really having a hard time doing so. We have tried to convince him to do cold turkey but it seems that it's not and wont be working at all. Until we another colleague prompted him to buy acid cigars. ACID cigars are all-handcrafted using the world's finest tobaccos with over 140 botanicals, herbs and essential oils to produce their unique flavor and aroma. The only way to understand ACID cigars is to experience them. He has not tried it yet but will definitely order soon. Can't wait!

united we stand

It's a common knowledge that I am the only one left here in the country. My parents have long migrated to the US while my brother is starting to build his career in New Zealand. That leaves us with this dilemma of keeping in touch with one another with issues like differences in time zones and etc. Me being an internet buff told them not to worry as we have web video conferencing being offered online. Apart from it being so easy to use, it is very affordable and can be used by any ordinary user. We are one happy family accross the globe. Yay!

grand dreams

Ever since my daughter L started with Kumon, I have been a believer, follower, fan. I am amazed at how they teach the kids with focus, concentration, independence and discipline. I would really love for L to be successful someday so she could bring us to these Outer Banks vacation rentals that we only read in the internet or in the papers. For now, all these will remain as grand dreams waiting to unfold while we support our kids and encourage them to excel in their academics.

stress buster

I am so into one blog site that I very interesting and intriguing these past few days. Serves as my stress-buster after a full day at work. I just followed the link from a twitter friend and I have been hooked since. Hooked to the point that the favor that was asked by my friend from me to look up tidbits on Mesothelioma cancer has been put on hold for a while. I will do that over the weekend as soon as I am free. Yey!

excited much!

What's a good franchise to start on? After over a decade of working in the corporate world, I am gearing towards starting up my own business. I am looking into trying the food business but I have yet to speak to my friends who are in the same field so they can share with my some tips and tricks to not fail and be successful. Excite much? Yes!

Dad and C

My dad, when he was diagnosed with C, had to stop working for a while. He had to undergo a series of chemotherapy sessions and daily radiation to cure the cells in his body. This meant that he would not be receiving any remuneration in the duration of his sickness. Good thing he has disability insurance, this way he was able to claim all the benefits that is due him -- actually, even more. What he was getting was far more than what his company was paying him at work. But who would want him knowing that he's sick. I am glad that he is done with all his sessions and is just waiting for a clearance from all his doctors and an affirmation that C is finally gone. Yay!

help on jobhunting

I never thought that looking for a job is quite tough until a friend asked for some assistance to help him find one. What he has in mind is some merchandiser jobs that he saw online. I could only help him with jobs related to the industry that I am working for at the moment. But since I care about his welfare and that of his family, I am finding myself to be engaged in finding one that would fit his qualifications. I am super engrossed online looking for a job for him. Care to help?

dad's other world

My dad, when he was a lot younger, used to target shoot a lot. And he would buy different kinds of gadget to aid him in this hobby. He had telescopes, rifles, mag lights, and eventually he would invest in barska scope. When he migrated, he left with my brother all his target shooting accessories and up until now, they are still neatly tucked inside a glass cabinet back home.

moments of grief

My sister in law's grandmother in law passed away recently and I admire how her husband's family organized and spent on funeral planning for their dearly departed. The service was organized, hassle free and smooth flowing. And the family members need not worry about anything anymore because it was covered. At least, for someone who was mourning, not worrying too much about trivial things has helped them cope up in their moments of grief.

nursing

A colleague who recently gave birth is asking me how to product more breast milk. She is keen on nursing her newborn child full time while she goes to work. Not exactly a huge fan of breastfeeding, I do not really know a lot of tips but what I have shared to her is to eat more green, leafy vegetables, drink lots of water daily, take milk and some other vitamin supplements. I had a hard time producing milk myself when I was nursing. So, this is far as my tips can go. Goodluck to her.

last straw

I need to lose weight. Fast. My hubby has given me an ultimatum and at the same time, a rewards program that if I lose this much weight by the end of the year, I will be receiving my dream bag as a holiday present. I am overly excited to the point that aside from hitting the gym and doing yoga regularly, I am seriously considering to take diet pills to augment my plan. I want that bag. Badly.

revelation indeed

After 15 years, a high school classmate and I bumped into each other in a mall during the holiday season. I almost did not recognize her because of her flawless, fair skin now. She used to be the girl in school with zits all over and I never imagined her to have improved this much. Her confidence level now has zoomed up as compared to how she would present herself to class back in high school. Thanks to acne skincare, she has tremendously improved for the best!

whirlwind holidays

Christmas is not over yet in my household. There's a couple more dinners that we will be hosting next week and I have been fussing all weekend about the menu that we will be serving. What's even worst is hubby is not a reliable assistant in affairs like these. All he can do is to take photos using one of our digital cameras at home and post them on our online website. I just wish preparing and cooking is as easy as taking photos and uploading them. 1-2-3 click!

wishes for another year

Because I have been a very good girl this year, I smell something wonderful for a present on my birthday next month! I know it's still far from the Christian Louboutin shoes dream that I have but it's more that that. Now that I have matured, I realized that happiness is not counting the number of shoes or bags you have. It is not how much money you've saved or how many dresses you have acquired. It's being at peace with yourself and your God. I am close to that. And I am proud.
