six months..

On March 11, 2005, I shall be married to my soul mate. My groom shall meet me at the end of the altar, beaming with joy as I walk down the aisle as radiant and as graceful as I can.

I always thought that we are meant for each other. I always believed that at the end of it all, we shall be at each other’s arms. We are soul mates.

I could vividly remember how casual the proposal was. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon in January at the Dela Rosa dining table. I was sitting right next to him, his mother across us. “Neng”, his mom calls me.. “January 8 will be perfect for you guys to get married. One year of preparations will be enough for you guys to have the wedding of your dreams. Will your mom agree with me on the date?” January was too early a time to get married!! We were planning of a December 2005 wedding after all. By that time, we were thinking, our piggy bank would be filled with the 5 and 10 peso coins we have been saving up. And our joint account will be fatter. Both of us were caught off-guard. We were taken aback. But as soon as we regained our senses, we looked at each other and smiled. That smiled meant everything. It changed our lives in a second..

Both of us are excited about the whole thing that it became a part of our daily lives. Everyday, we would update each other of new ideas that we can incorporate in the wedding. Our own wedding. He leaves all decision-making to me. He has but one request. That we be married in his favorite church. Christ the King Parish in Greenmeadows.

It was time to tell mom. Arthuz made a call on her birthday, January 6th. He thought that it would be the perfect time to break the news. It turned out, he doesn't have to exert an affort in breaking the news to mom. She wanted us to get married!!! :)). But she made this tiny request of moving our wedding date from January to March. No problem. Anything for my superwoman, we told her. Then, all's set for the wedding preps..

I never thought that the preparations would parch me dry and drive me nuts!! I originally set up this blog to record my wedding preparations, but then again, I doubt that I will be working on my wedding preps alone. With the way things are going, it seems that I’m more into sharing my love story than record my “done” and “to do list”. Oh well, I still have 6 months to go..

I shall be married to the love of my life. He shall bring me to the altar to celebrate the triumph of the human spirit over the seemingly unending odds. I shall march in the aisle with the splendor of beautiful flowers and lovely songs to proclaim, my gorgeous husband waiting for me at the end of the line.

Exactly 6 months from today, I will be Mrs. Arthuz Dela Rosa.
