Dear Nene,
I love you so much that I want to cry when
I think that I will not be able to help you in preparing for your
wedding...
That was mom. I did not attempt to finish the rest of the letter. It was deeply affecting. Tears welled from my eyes the moment I started reading her first lines. She has always been like that. She always had nice words to tell me in her letters. For the past 21 years that we are on the opposite side of the world, she never fails to write me letters or send me cards. She knows what shoe size she needs to send me for my first communion or seniors prom. She never forgets the milestones in my life. Probably because she's my mother and there's this thin, invisible line connecting our hearts.
I will be preparing for my wedding without her and I'll surely miss her - our catfights and all. But I know that everything will be temporary because as I walk down the aisle - she will be waiting in the middle.
I love you, mom. I always end my letter with this, remember?.. and I'll end this tribute again with the same familiar line: You are the wind beneath my wings.
1 left their thoughts:
Sigh!
Just think that you have a very loving mother-in-law and very beautiful at that! always ready to support and give a hand on your big day preps! But nothing can ever replace your mother ;-)
Big Bear Hugs to you,
