baby back ribs

It was my grandmother's 70th birthday last Sunday and for a change, my mother in law decided now that we all have our own families, the preparation of the food should not only be a task solely assigned to her. For that, she required (and I say REQUIRED) each family (her siblings included) to prepare and bring one dish each. Mama prepared an array of delectable dishes that night -- pata tim, grilled tilapia, molo soup, fried lumpia. Shine cooked her 'walang kamatayan but uber creamy and delicious' tuna pasta, Tita Dits and family prepared fruit salad (complete with strawberries!!), Tita Cel brought beef and mushrooms. Tita Ange, because she's so smart, brought lechon manok she bought somewhere plus 2 boxes of cakes hahaha!
And because I was so inspired to cook as mentioned here, I planned to surprise my in laws by cooking something special. Initially, mama wanted me to cook pork giniling para madali lang daw for me, but who would want to eat giniling in a birthday party?!!! So, I decided to prepare my brother's pinakamamahal na BABY BACK RIBS. I called him up for the recipe and how to and after an exchange of text messages, I am ready with my special dish.
The party was a blast. There were a lot of singing and dancing. We also viewed the wedding of Shine and Carlos on DVD. But most of all, my baby back ribs was a blast!!! I was so proud of myself that I was promising everyone I'd cook for them hahahaha!
We left at half past 11 because the little girl was tired, restless and sleepy. It was a great night as it was a night well spent again, with family and some very close friends. To Mama Lola -- may this year bring you more joy and satisfaction, and good health too. And may you live to see some more of your beautiful great grandchildren. We love you.

Recipe for my baby back ribs (my brother's actually but i'm sure he won't mind lol!):

2 kls baby back ribs (for a perfect cut, go to monterey)

soy sauce

catsup

worcestershire sauce

brown sugar

12 lemons/kalamansi

pepper

marinade overnight. grill
