baby girl no more

Thank God, my little girl is finally asleep! It's getting more challenging putting her to sleep on a decent time these days as she is also busy with her own stuff at night. I am so glad she's becoming really independent like me. When she sees that I am infronyt of my laptop already, she doesn't bother me with any of the things she want to do. If she wants to watch Dora or Barney on DVD, she gets the disc from her CD cabinet, turns on the TV then the DVD, puts in the disc and voila! she watches by herself. Though she's not yet familiar with the commands on the remote, she knows which ones to press in order for the movie to play/run. When she feels sleepy already, she'll turn to me and say:Mama, I'm sleepy na. Gunayt. That's my queue to stop what I am doing for a while, tuck her to bed and say the evening prayers with her. Then, when she starts snoring, I go back to my blogging.

Lately, she calls me "mother". I asked her why she wants to call me that instead of mama, and I was shocked to hear her answer me with: "Mother is the same as Mama, mom!". I didn't teach her that. She had to learn that all by herself. And boy, am I proud!

She will be in school this coming June. As much as I'd want to not let her go this early, my husband and I feels that it's time to show her the world. And to let her know that there are people she needs to meet and interact with and there are lessons she has to learn.

Sigh. My baby girl is growing up too fast.
