My quest to grab a copy of the book, as I have mentioned here has been successful. Right after work, I dashed off to NBS in Podium to check if there are still available copies but guess what? The last piece was already sold to the lady who left the bookstore when I arrived. I hurriedly rushed to the branch at MegaMall only to find out from the saleslady that I was the nth person to ask if they had copies unfortunately, they have run out of stock since three days ago. My last resort was to go to Powerbooks. I was starting to lose hope but I gave it a shot.

It’s always a different feel every time I go inside a powerbooks store. The crew is friendly, books are neatly arranged by classifications, there is a kiddie corner and a coffee shop plus the entire store is spic and span clean. A staff immediately asked if there’s something I was looking for, I told her I was looking for Kitty Go’s The Chic Hits the Fan. She radioed her colleague if they still have copies and after a couple of minutes, another staff was walking towards me with copies of Kitty Go’s 2 novels. I didn’t waste no time and effort and immediately paid for the books (and 1 yabang pinoy bracelet for the hubby which I just saw on display as I was lining up for payment). I went home with the books I was dreaming about the whole day at work.

It’s Sunday now and I have yet to finish the first book. I would admit, I had a hard time guessing who these fashown people are that I had to consult the cheat sheet that I downloaded from a site on who really is who. It is indeed a fun book, as one editor would put it – hilariously true, painfully fact-based, and Kitty, my new idol succeeded in what she wanted out of this. Cheers to you, KG! You’ve got a fan in me!
