a love story

We've chanced upon the movie, A Love Story playing on Cinema One while channel-surfing last night. My husband isn't one to really watch a tagalog flick especially on TV. Masyado pihikan yun! And for the longest time, he has been trying to convince me to veer away from my jologs side (read: tagalog movies, YES magazine, PEP website, the BUZZ etc) as it won't do our daughter good. Eh ang hirap kasi sadya akong jologs noh! Hehehehe! Last night was an exception. I am not sure though if he was just trying to be polite and nice but he managed to watch with me for a good hour and few minutes, with comments on the side.

It was kinda funny because we were comparing our lives to that of the characters in the story and air out our opinions and takes on certain scenes. Mala He said, She said. What's worth blogging about here is, after exactly 2 years, we have both moved on and chose to forget about the "not so good" past that we've had and the "challenge" that we've encountered as a couple. I have forgiven him for that one time that he has hurt me and have held on to his promise of a better family and an even better companionship. (I swear, he's sweeter, more caring, more selfless and loving now more than ever!) We realized that we won't be able to appreciate each other as partners if it were not for the many humps and bumps along the road. And I cried when he said that he don't mind taking all the stones thrown his way for as long as I will continue holding his hand until we're old and grey.

I have realized that we learn - though in the most painful ways - the true meaning of unconditional love and forgiveness.
