You have a good sense of self control and hate to show weakness. You say whatever is on your mind. Other people's reactions don't phase you. You tend to have one best friend you hang with, as opposed to many aquaintences. You tend to dream big, but you worry that your dreams aren't attainable.

After years of not changing cameras, I have finally summoned enough courage to spend for a nice little digital camera from Sony. It was a good deal so I grabbed the opportunity and hope against hope that this won't mess up my finances for the next few months. Fingers crossed. Wink. Wink.

Why did I buy this new toy? Well, for one, Lizzie is growing up and I want to document all her milestones and achievements. And I can't do it if I am using an old, outdated camera that has 3.1 megapixels heee! Second, the last time I bought a camera was before my wedding. The other one which I bought from a friend did not last long enough to capture sweet moments of the family. So, hopefully, this will serve it's purpose and be with me in the next couple of years...

Goodbye lofty dreams of owning an SLR hehehe! My only consolation now is at least, I can bring it anywhere and keep it inside my small clutch bag.

I just got an SMS that my mother in law has been admitted to the hospital because she has been bleeding since last week. I am so not used to seeing her in pain because if there's one person who can't stand any form of pain at all, it's got to be her. I just need to finish all my reports and I've got to rush to the hospital to check on her.

As promised in this post, I will only continue blogging if I get to fix my issues with blogger. And now, after 6 tough, hard, frikkin days, and with the help of the blogging gurus in the www, I was able to put my own domain up!

Pahaba talaga yan. Sa totoo lang, mahaba yan pero pataas. Hindi ko mawari kung ano yan pero sabi ng asawa ko, mga tao (obvious naman diba?) daw yan. Sa una ay natakot at nagulat ako pero kinuhaan ko pa rin ng litrato for posterity. Malay ko bang magagamit ko ito sa LP, pagkalipas ng 3 taon.

These were the first lines in Mitch Albom's new book FOR ONE MORE DAY. I have seen this in the bookstore long before but never really had the chance to grab it. Dunno why. Maybe it wasn't worth reading. Maybe it was.

Until I found a copy on my desk yesterday. Inside it was a note from my boss which says:

"Hey Farah, I know we haven't had the chance to talk lately. This is such a crazy world that even friendships are being put aside for a while. I got a copy for myself a few days ago and after reading, I thought of giving one to you, my mother-friend! Enjoy reading and enjoy life. My friendship and love always, Kristel"

Read the entire book in an hour before sleeping last night. And I was crying buckets! My husband and daughter were puzzled on why I was crying. They didn't know. And they won't probably know.

I didn't know I am now a full-fledged member of LP until I confirmed today that my name is included in the approved new members for the week April 17-21.

To say that I am happy, and excited is an understatement.

Wordless because I am at a loss for words. I was left speechless (still am) after these photos were taken. She was in her usual jovial self. She has always been very creative with her poses but these? I HAVE NO IDEA! It was a charming moment. Nobody taught her this. Her TV shows are strictly monitored. I keep reassuring myself, she will be a good girl when she grows up. Ü

Brought the workers (yup, all 80 of them including their families) to a resort somewhere in Real, Quezon. It was a good 3 hour drive passing through the back door (Antipolo-Tanay-Teresa-Morong). Left Manila 3am last Sunday and stayed in Quezon until about 3pm. It was really nice to see the people working for us having the time of their lives, with good food, the beach and good company the whole day! Sharing some photos below:

I passed by the mall last Friday to get Lizzie her flip flops for our summer outing yesterday. I grew tired seeing her on crocs all the time so I asked her yaya if she can manage to wear flip flops already (without the strings). The yaya assured me that the little girl can manage so I got her a nice pair and check out our exchange of words when I handed over the "little something" to her over dinner that same day.

Me: I have something for you! (in my perkiest tone ever)
Lizzie: What? (getting giddy and all)
Me: O close your eyes first
Lizzie: closes eyes and smiles
I immediately held the bag at her eye level.
Lizzie (opens her eyes sooo wide and exclaiming---): Oh mama! Thank you thank you very very much!

I was expecting to be amused as I was checking Maver's blog. I have told her that everytime I read her blog, it's as if I am brought to another world where I can just laugh my heart out. She has her way of entertaining me, really.

But when I was reading her posts today, I came across this blog and instead of the usual tears from laughing, today, I had tears because my heart was bleeding. I feel for the family of the little boy, especially her mother. Being a mother myself, I can't imagine losing my daughter without Him preparing me for it. I am so at a loss for words. At this point, I just want to say a little prayer his family and friends.

What time do you usually wake up?
I get off the bed at 6 am on weekdays and 7am on weekends. On lazy weekends though, I allow myself to stay in bed a little longer.

What’s the first thing you do?
Say my morning prayers and kiss the hubby and the kiddo.

Breakfast?
No breakfast for me. I ask the maids to prepare hubby's and kiddo's breakfast though. I grab my coffee before going up to work.

Do you go to work/school?
I go to work.

Do you like it?
I like the 13th and 28th part of it.

If you stay at home, what do you do all day?
Take care of the kiddo. Spot check the maids. Stay in front of my lap top or do DVD marathons.

When’s lunch and what you eatin’?
Lunch is at work, every 12:45 with my good friend Raw.

What time do you get home from work/school?
Usually 5pm. But today, I am getting my daughter her flip flops so I might be late in going home.

What do you do?
I work in a BPO during the weekdays, then help my hubby with our business on the weekends. I am a mother and a wife as soon as I log out of my office computer.

Dinner: When and what?
No dinner in the Dela Rosa household. Diet for everyone!

What do you do to unwind?
Read a book. Lounge around. Hot baths. Coffee.

What’s your favorite part of the day?
Crisp mornings!

Who’s your favorite person to interact with?
My family, especially my daughter. And my friends. All of them!

When’s bedtime?
10pm the latest. But when my blogging mood is up, I can stay up till around 1am.

a cherished friendship

Bumped into one of my closest guy friends (he is actually my husband's best buddy/blood brother but we got closer when we moved to the same company a couple of years ago) while having breakfast at Something Fishy with my in laws today. I was so excited to see him that I literally jumped out of where I was sitting to hug him. It has been months (probably more than a year) already since we last talked and though we would bump into each other at work, there was never a chance for us to sit and have those chit chats we used to do before. He was my coffee buddy for almost a year. He was my protector at work, my big brother as I call him. We were just so close.

We kinda drifted apart when he stepped up the ladder and eventually became the site director. Occasional exchange of text messages and emails but the coffee breaks were gone. I started missing him. So, imagine the thrill when I saw him today? It was like seeing your best friend you haven't seen in years. The feeling was so great! After the meeting, he sent me a text message saying: "Hey sistah! I've missed you. You have no idea. So much stuff has happened that I wish I could just talk to you. Let's catch up soon. Ü"

I'd love to have coffee with him and hubby soon. I've got to organize it now or else I might forget again.

Hey ep! I've missed you too, brothah! And Arthuz have been bugging me that we visit you at home. Soon. Soon. Promise. Take it easy ok? Told you, it's never good to spend time at Med City! See yah around! Ü

Hay! Friendships like the one I have with ep will always be cherished. He is and will always be my husband's best buddy, my brothah, Lizzie's ninong (who never fails to spoil her with gifts!), my closest guy friend... my favorite friend.

Kagaya po ni Aggie, hindi din ako nakasali sa unang linggo ng Abril kaya gusto ko pong humabol ngayon. Dahil dito, may ipapasa akong litrato para sa unang linggo at para sa araw na ito. (Just like Aggie, I was also not able to join in the first week of April but I would still want to submit my entries today. Because of this, I have an entry for last week and another one for today.)

Ito naman ang aking prinsesa na nakisali lang sa pagkuha ko ng litrato. Ito na ang pinakamaayos na tatsulok na ginawa nya. Sana ay nagustuhan nyo ang kanyang "special participation".

the heat is on!

Summer is officially here. Why do I say so? Because the heat has gone wild these past few days. I have stopped checking out the temperature in Manila. It's just so frustrating! Today, I turned the AC on an hour earlier and have set the timer to until an hour later than usual (so that's practically the whole frikkin' night!). I pay for the electricity because this is my share in the pie, but this summer, hubby offered to shoulder half of it (that's on top of his toka hehehe). Goodluck to us and our skyrocketing meralco bill for April and May.

Any tips on saving electricity will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. :)

While I was resting at the couch late this afternoon (I usually lie down and rest for a while upon coming home from work while waiting for my husband to arrive), reading the latest edition of Marie Claire Philippines, Lizzie came up to me and said:"Mama, you are mother crab and I am baby crab and we live inside Little Mermaid's house".

Too much watching DVDs, I guess.

7. What are you afraid to lose the most? my terrific tandem (hubs and liz) and my sanity

I'll donate a portion to the the people working for us, give to both hubs and my parents, give to raman & family, and to shine & family, put in more money in our business, save up for lizzie's education, buy hubs a hummer and me a bentley (lol), then put the rest in the bank :)

12. Till now, what is the moment that you regret the most? there's nothing to regret about. i am sad about the turn outs of some of the things in my life but i don't regret, i just wish i was wiser then

14. What is your ambition? i wanted to be a lawyer when i was younger, i just want to be a good mother and an effective businesswoman now.

16. How did you celebrate new year? with hubs, lizzie at home in naga with my parents and brother and his family

17. It is already 2008, do you have a new year’s resolution? i don't believe in them

18. What do you look forward to in 2008? lizzie's going to school, the birth of shine's baby and more moolah :)
