I feel sorry for a friend who recently met a motorcycle accident while he was on his way home from work. His vehicle slammed into a post on a dimly lit road about a few blocks away from his house. It's too unfortunate that the doctors had to put a cast on his right leg for a while afterwhich he was told, that he would be needing crutches for a minimum of three months to aid him in walking.
Road safety is really one of my most fervent prayers. With the number of news about vehicular accidents lately, I feel too scared for people who drive, people who bring motorcycles to work, and even people who commute. It's as if more and more are being reckless and inconsiderate on the road that's why these things happen. How I wish more people would be advocates of road safety so this can again be a blood-free and accident-free environment.

After a series of threatened abortions, my OB Gyne strictly instructed me to go on bedrest for a month and at the same time, to veer away from heavy reads thus this.
Fast forward to 2009. I now have the complete set of Sophie Kinsella's series (including The Undomestic Goddess, Can you keep a secret? and Remember Me) and just a couple of days ago, we were able to watch the first installment in silverscreen. Woohoo!!

summer homes
In a couple of days, it will be March already and here in my country, this month marks the start of hot yet refreshing summer. My parents will be coming home for their annual vacation and as early as now, I am very busy looking for places that we can probably go to. I am actually looking for something similar to the Outer Banks rentals as I am impressed with their maintained homes with really cheerful colors. My mom would want to spend her leisure time in places like that. I just wish I could find that could suit our taste as well as our budget.

my dad, the hero
I just got off the phone with my dad. Today is his 56th birthday, and the third year that we don't get to spend it together. I got so used to greeting him personally on his birthday that I had to set my alarm last night just so I won't forget.
My dad, he has never changed. He still is the same soft spoken, kind hearted, ever generous father that he is. And each time, I thank the heavens for his existence. I admire his patience and his love for his family. He will forever be my daughter's Lolo Waul.

the new room
I am in the process of reconstructing the other room to be Lizzie's own room. We have decided that it's time for her to be independent and that independence will start by sleeping on her own. I have started shopping for wall papers, carpets, lamps including her study table and chair. It's actualy almost done except for her bed. We want something for a princess like her. My husband so one a few days ago and he liked it. The bed frames looked sturdy yet the look was still funky and childlike. It was far from being boring and dull. We plan to check that out this weekend. Will let you know how it goes.

Ito ang tipikal na "deyt" namin mag asawa. Bawat linggo ay talagang pinagtutuunan namin ng panahon ang pag ikot sa lahat ng Starbucks para umupo, magkape at magkwentuhan. Balak namin gawin ito hanggang sa pagtanda namin.
This is our typical coffee date. Every weekend, we make it a point to go to different Starbucks branches to sit down, have coffee and converse. And we plan to do this every Sunday until our old and grey days.

Today is Valentine's Day and the traffic in the metro is really bad. We were initially planning to hit the malls and shop since I heard there are a lot of items on sale but we opted to postpone our mall trip and just settle for a quiet family dinner at my in laws' place. There's going to be shrimps and crabs, steak, grilled chicken, salad, fruits, baby potatoes in garlic and lots of sweets. I am bringing wine. I can't contain my excitement and will blog about this unique valentine's day celebration later.

The tale of 2 bookworms.
That's what we are. At least, my hubby and me because we are yet to teach our daughter how to read. Each night before retiring to bed, we would simultaneously turn our night lamps on and open the books that we are currentle reading. My husband, being the late sleeper that he is, would stay up a couple of hours longer than me so he finishes the books of his choice faster than I do.
And because of this passion for reading especially at night, we have invested so much on good lighting in the room. Just recently, we had a led light installed inside our room. Apart from being energy efficient, their unique, decorative design spruced up our room a bit.

When people say that friends are gifts from God, I couldn't agree with them more on that. And I am fortunate to have the sweetest, most thoughtful and most generous friends in the world. My birthday has come and gone but the surprises keep popping in. A week ago, my boss slash good friend gifted me with a Choco Overload cake from Conti's.
A few days ago while I was reading a book in my room, our trusty mailman dropped this off ---
a birthday card with some CBTL vouchers from my bosom friend, Babs. Thanks so much for remembering how much of a coffee addict I am. I swear, these will go a long way! Kisses to you!!
And upon arriving home from work tonight, my househelp handed me another package from another high school friend who is based in SG. Thanks for this lovely pair of shades, Leah. You really rock! And although I am loving yur surprise, I am still sad that we weren't able to meet up for my birthday dinner while you were in town. I wish I could blame Nicco I won't =)

2. What are you listening to? The sound of the aircon and my laptop. A while back, I was listening to some TV host discussing the advantages of buying promotional pens. Had my mother in law heard it, she would have bought straight away.
3. What are you wearing? Nightgown.
4. What are you drinking or eating? I have a glass of water beside me. My throat dries up if I don't talk for an hour.
5. Who are you dating or crushing on? My husband. As Always.
6. Who are you talking to? I am waiting for Babs to talk to me in YM. My FB chatmates are offline so my night is peaceful...
7. What mood are you in? I was raging mad with Lizzie awhile ago. She locked the bathroom door and we don't have a key to it. I have since calmed down after hubby talked to me about it. Now, we have a busted bathroom door and I have a sleeping little girl because I made her sleep right away.

Meyer.
This is what's keeping me very preoccupied lately. I am a late bloomer I know. Blame it on the loss of stock in almost all the bookstores here. I didn't order online because of the shipping fee naman, sayang. So, I patiently waited and bought everything as soon as they had them. I still lack Breaking Dawn. But with the way things are going, it's just fine because I am only about to finish the first. LOL.
